Present:
Joanna Anaya, Dave Garner, Lauren Smith, Joe Casillas, Rose, Vivian Nelson, Pauline Rivera, Korrine Thornell, Ann Essance, Susan Peterson, Nancy Pivonka, Adrienne Myers, Nancy Parker, Jean Salisbury
- Jean Salisbury opened the meeting.
- All present introduced themselves
- Leroy Pacheco,ADLC crossing project manager, provided an update regarding the Arroyo de los Chamisos/Richards Avenue extension project.
- He confirmed that there would be a roundabout at the intersections of Camino del Prado and Richards Ave.
- The entire cost of the project is roughly $20,000,000. The city will be asking for financial assistance from the federal government.
- The project is entering the preliminary engineering and environmental design stages.
- The city estimates that 10,000 cars per day will be using the extension, but that the city expects there to be little if any impact on our neighborhood.
- Some homeowners questioned that, and Pacheco said there will be a traffic study done prior to the extension being built, so they can compare traffic patterns before and after. It was unclear what action would be taken if an increase in traffic were observed in our neighborhood.
- There is a process for the neighborhood to request the city install traffic calming measures (speed bumps, stop signs, bumped out curbs). Pacheco described the process as lengthy, including the fact that a large percentage of homeowners would need to sign the application before the city would consider such measures. The board will stay informed as to the timeline for traffic calming requests.

- Homeowner Concerns:
- Homeowners can always contact the board president about concerns in the neighborhood. The board will not intervene in neighbor disputes, but it can help direct homeowners to community resources that may be able to help.
- Many concerns can be addressed to: Ned Doty, Constituent Services Specialist, 505-955-6949 or email: constituentservices@santafenm.gov
- There was a discussion about some children approaching homeowners trying to sell items and/or ask for money. Homeowners are discouraged from giving these children money. One homeowner contacted CYFD regarding the matter.
- A homeowner requested the board to inform residents about the by-laws/covenants which deem parking on lawns not permitted. The board will address this. There was a discussion about vehicles being parked in yards, not in driveways or in the street, and how this detracts from the appearance of the neighborhood. If a homeowner is uncomfortable approaching an owner or renter about this, please let the board know.
- A homeowner suggested we place doggie bag containers at strategic spots for use by dog owners. The board will proceed filling that request.
